Seiser Alm Hotels (Urthaler & Plaza)
Seiser Alm Hotels is a family-owned two-property hotel group in the hamlet of Compatsch on the Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm, Europe's largest high alpine pasture, at 1,843 m inside the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage area. Both houses trade under a single legal entity, Seiser Alm Hotels S.a.s. di Urthaler Robert, VAT IT00138680210, registered at Compatsch 33 in the municipality of Kastelruth / Castelrotto. The Urthaler family has run hospitality on and around the Seiser Alm for four generations. THE SEISER ALM URTHALER is the group's five-star house at Compatsch 49, opened on 2 December 2002 and rated five stars since 2009. It is built almost entirely of solid timber — walls, ceilings and floors of massive beams joined with wooden dowels — and presents itself as the first all-timber design hotel in the Alps, with wall heating behind clay panels in place of underfloor heating. Nine published room and suite categories run from a 28 m² Classic Sole Top to an 80 m² Suite Superior with two bedrooms and two bathrooms; third-party directories put the total at 62 rooms, a figure the hotel itself does not publish. The house was extended by nine rooms in 2013 together with a smoking lounge and an additional Stube, and the sauna area was rebuilt in 2019. PLAZA EASY LIVING, the three-star sister house at Compatsch 33, has been in the family since it was leased in 1968 and bought in 1978. It offers single rooms, north- and south-facing doubles of about 22 m², 35–40 m² apartments for four to five people and a 43 m² suite; third-party listings put it at 39 rooms. It is positioned explicitly as the affordable way to stay in the same location, and its guests may book treatments in the five-star hotel's spa. THE NON-ROOM FOOTPRINT IS UNUSUALLY WIDE FOR 101 KEYS. The Antermoia Spa runs to 700 m² over two floors with a 20 m stainless-steel panoramic indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool held at 30 °C, a 200 m² fitness hall equipped by David and Technogym, Finnish, steam and bio saunas, a plunge pool, an ice fountain and an outdoor Kneipp course; a full treatment price list is published, from EUR 78 for a classic 50-minute massage to EUR 154 for a rejuvenating facial, using Team Dr. Joseph and Vitalis Dr. Joseph products. Food and beverage runs across a half-board hotel restaurant serving a five-course choice menu, the à la carte Restaurant Jägerstube open daily 12.00–14.00 and expressly not included in the half-board price, the Ciulé wine cellar with year-round tastings for groups of six or more, the Onyx Bar, an adults-only Cigar Lounge, and the d&b Bar — a separate venue a minute's walk away whose all-timber sun terrace was rebuilt in 2022. Both hotels sell seminars and incentives, the Plaza with a conference room for up to 40 people. Further chargeable extras include carriage rides across the Alm, reduced green fees and reserved tee times as a partner hotel of the St. Vigil Seis golf club, discounted ski rental and ski school, a garage at the Plaza and pets at EUR 25 (Urthaler) and EUR 14 (Plaza) per night. The Urthaler's own catalogue states that the Jägerstube, the beauty department and the Onyx Bar are open to external guests who are not staying at either hotel. The commercial stack is agency-run and regionally sourced. The website is TYPO3 built on Brandnamic's bn_package, enquiry forms and newsletter run through Brandnamic's hospitality software platform, both booking flows use the HGV Booking Südtirol widget under two separate property identifiers, a Consisto rateCHECKER price calendar sits on the room pages and an AI Kosmo conversational agent runs site-wide. There is no guest login, no member area, no repeat-guest scheme and no digital voucher shop anywhere in it: both hotels' own catalogues state that gift vouchers are prepared individually, by hand, for whatever amount the buyer asks for.
