COMO Alpina Dolomites

A 60-key five-star lodge at 1,869 m on the Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm, Europe's largest high-altitude plateau, in the UNESCO-listed Dolomites. The building went up in 2010 on the Compatsch plateau; the Bernardi family — hoteliers in Val Gardena for close to a century through the Hotel Gardena in Ortisei — took the project over mid-construction and ran it for more than a decade as the 'Alpina Dolomites Gardena Health Lodge & Spa'. THE OPERATING COMPANY IS UNCHANGED BUT THE OWNERSHIP IS NOT. Alpina Dolomites S.r.l. (P.IVA IT02692310218, REA BZ-197666, incorporated 2 November 2010) still owns and operates the hotel, but on 18 February 2020 Hotel Properties Limited — a Singapore Exchange-listed hotel and property group — announced through HPL Dolomites (UK) Limited the purchase of 90% of the company's capital and voting rights, 135,000 shares, from Misam S.r.l. for EUR 40,551,805. HPL Dolomites is 80% held by HPL (Europe) Pte Ltd and 20% by Como Holdings (Europe) Ltd. The remaining 10% stayed with the previous owners at completion; secondary reporting says COMO took full ownership in December 2023, which has not been confirmed against a filing. The house reopened as COMO Alpina Dolomites on 7 December 2023 — COMO's fifth European and eighteenth global property, and its second in Italy after COMO Castello del Nero in Chianti. The general manager is Julian Seeber. The quartzite facade and the terrain-mirroring timber roof were kept; the interiors, service model and food and beverage were rebuilt to COMO's template. NON-ROOM SURFACES ARE UNUSUALLY DENSE FOR SIXTY KEYS: the COMO Shambhala Retreat (22 m indoor pool, 7 m panoramic outdoor pool, sauna, relaxation zones, fitness centre, beauty sanctuary, treatment menu), two named restaurants — Trattoria Dell'Alpe and the Alpina Chalet Grill and Bar — a lobby lounge with afternoon tea, ski-in/ski-out access to the Alpe di Siusi pistes, a Play by COMO kids club, and paid retreat programming (ski retreats around the 2026 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, wellness journeys with named athletes and practitioners). It trades two seasons, not twelve months: December to March and June to October, with the plateau closed to private cars. Affiliations are global rather than regional — The Leading Hotels of the World and American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts — and there is no visible membership of the South Tyrolean consortia (Belvita, Vitalpina, Vinum Hotels) that structure the rest of the region. The technology stack is COMO's corporate stack, not a South Tyrolean one: a Cendyn (Hebs Digital) website, personalisation engine and CRM; a chain booking engine on reservations.comohotels.com; Book4Time SpaTime for spa booking; SevenRooms for both restaurants; Techsembly (now Aven Hospitality) for group gift cards; Shopify with Klaviyo for the Shop by COMO retail store; OneTrust for consent; Adobe tagging and Google Tag Manager. Above all of it sits Comoclub, the COMO Group's cross-brand recognition and points programme.

Guest Retail & eCommerce

Shopify

Shopify — shopbycomo.com

Global e-commerce platform: hosted storefronts, checkout, payments, customer accounts and order history, plus Shopify POS for physical retail. Not a hospitality product — but increasingly the way hotels with a product line sell it. (The company registry taxonomy has no e-commerce category; filed under POS and payments as the nearest fit.)

Data, Integrations & Infrastructure 1

Web & Marketing Analytics

Google Analytics & Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager (GTM-KTNS94)

Google's web analytics (GA4) and tag management (GTM) stack — the near-universal default for hotel websites, usually deployed as a single GTM container that loads GA4, ad pixels and consent tooling.

The dominant online travel agency for European accommodation, taking commission (typically ~15–20%) on bookings it originates.

Destination & Regional Tourism

South Tyrol Open Data Hub (LTS)

Operator of the South Tyrolean tourism data and availability infrastructure. LTS is the licence holder and source of record for accommodation master data published through IDM Südtirol's Open Data Hub (tourism.opendatahub.com) and re-used by suedtirol.info, vinschgau.net and every local destination portal. It also underpins MSS (Marketing System Südtirol), the regional availability/booking layer.
