Amort Hotels

Amort Hotels is a fourth-generation family hotel group in Meran / Merano, South Tyrol, trading as Amort Hotels GmbH / Srl (VAT IT02824360214, REA BZ-208790, share capital €20,000, registered 2014). Unusually for the region, all of its properties sit inside a single operating company rather than one company per house. The portfolio is five accommodation properties: Hotel Mignon Meran Park & Spa (5★, 63 rooms and suites, a 10,000 m² park and a 2,000 m² spa on three levels); Hotel Adria & Spa (4★, an Art Nouveau / Belle Époque city hotel in the Obermais mansion district, hosting since 1886 and family-owned since 1982/83); Residence Désirée Classic & Design (3★ apartments with pool and spa); Villa Sabine (holiday apartments in Meran); and Garden Maisonette, a 120 m² holiday flat for up to six people at Navene near Malcesine on Lake Garda — the only property outside South Tyrol. The family markets the four Meran houses under an umbrella brand that launched in 2026 at amorthotels.com, replacing the previous group domain hotel-meran.it and its long-running strapline 'Zwölf Sterne, drei Hotels, eine Familie' (twelve stars, three hotels, one family). The business traces to 1948, when Zenzi, Engelbert and Irmgard Amort bought the Pension Mignon in Otto-Huber-Straße. A new house opened in Grabmayrstraße in 1966 — described by the family as the first newly opened hotel in Meran after the war, already with saunas and wellness treatments. Hotel Adria was acquired in 1982. Sissi Amort-Ellmenreich took over the family hotel in 2006; the Mignon was awarded its fifth star in 2012; Residence Désirée Design was newly built with a wellness area in 2017. The fourth generation joined in 2020 (Philipp, after hotel-management studies and placements in Spain, Italy and Switzerland) and 2024 (Lorenz Amort and Micaela Zaslabsky-Ellmenreich). Rates are published per person per night: €217–432 with gourmet half-board at the Mignon, €113–158 with breakfast at the Adria, and from €110 for apartments at Villa Sabine. Beyond rooms the group sells a substantial priced non-accommodation offer: a Day Spa for non-residents at €70 per person (€98 with breakfast, €115 with the six-course gourmet menu), a full spa treatment menu across six categories (manicure €64, body wraps €63, classic facial €93), seminars and conferences on a day rate of €76–80 per person, a restaurant, hotel bar and wine programme, an annual Kirchtag festival, and paid stay add-ons at the Adria. Technically each house is run as its own island. Four different booking systems serve five properties: Seekda at Hotel Adria, a Consisto rate-checker plus an enquiry form at the Mignon, the HGV Booking Südtirol widget at Désirée and Villa Sabine, and Smoobu with Airbnb at Garden Maisonette. All six websites are built and hosted by the Meran-area agency piloly.com. The group has run a cross-property guest loyalty programme, 'Amort's VIP Club', since at least 2017 on the German guest-club platform KunLeiSys. Members earned 'Meraner Sonnen' (sun points) with a stated euro value on stays at any of the three Meran hotels and for referrals and reviews, and could convert them into transferable euro vouchers. The group has published notice that this points system is being retired and replaced by a new programme.
