Oberbozen / Soprabolzano, Italy
Familie Holzner (Parkhotel Holzner + Bella Posta)
A family-owned hotel company on the Ritten/Renon plateau at 1,200 m above Bolzano, operating two brands and three licensed properties out of a single legal entity: Parkhotel Holzner S.r.l., VAT IT01188210213, REA BZ-105438, sole shareholder Wolfgang Holzner. PARKHOTEL HOLZNER is a 4-star-superior house of 52 rooms across 20 categories, built in 1908 in the Alpine Jugendstil ('Schweizer Alpenstil') for the company that built the Rittner Bahn, and in Holzner family hands since Hans Holzner bought it from the railway company in 1911 — four generations. It stands 30 metres from the top station of the Ritten cable car, which reaches Bolzano in 12 minutes, and sits in a 10,000 m² park. Wolfgang and Monika Holzner took over in 2008 and ran an architecture competition in 2012/2013; the winners, bergmeisterwolf of Brixen, delivered the work in two phases — Restaurant 1908 in the former laundry, a lift, a new stairwell and a reconstruction of the original tower in 2014, then the Bergmeister wing with underground parking, the Eden suites and the 880 m² Liberty Spa in 2018. Restaurant 1908 holds a MICHELIN star and a MICHELIN Green Star under head chef Stephan Zippl, four toques in Gault Millau 2026, and a Grand Selection Award Wine List 2026. The house also runs a paid Day Spa for non-residents (€26–165), around thirty priced spa treatments, personal training, tennis coaching, e-bike rental, a weekly sommelier-led wine tasting in its Vinothek, tennis courts, a house museum and a panorama tower. It was a founding member of Familienhotels Südtirol in 1997 and remains a family hotel. BELLA POSTA is the former Hotel Post-Victoria, two adjacent historic houses in the village centre — the Haupthaus, whose roots run back to the Unterhofer farmstead and which became the Gasthof Hofer in 1907 and later the 'Post', and the Villa Victoria next door. Erwin Mayr ran the combined Hotel Post-Victoria until the 1990s, after which it was leased out for years. The Holzner family took it on and rebuilt both buildings with the architecture practice raro: the Dependance opened in May 2025 as Bella Posta Apartments, and the completely rebuilt Haupthaus reopened on 27 MARCH 2026, from which point the two buildings trade together as Bella Posta Hotel — 22 rooms and suites in the Haupthaus and 14 studios and apartments in the Dependance, several with kitchenettes. The concept is deliberately different from the Parkhotel: 'Dolce Vita All Day', an all-inclusive-light board with no fixed mealtimes, a Gioia Spa with heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room, a bar and lounge open to day guests, and an honesty 'Trust Bar' from which guests serve themselves in the evening and charge the drinks to their room through the Bella Posta app. Bella Posta also runs a 'Smart Stay' journey — online check-in, a digital key for the Dependance entrance, depot and laundry, in-app booking of extra services, in-app chat, digital check-out and an emailed invoice paid online. The two houses trade with each other: Bella Posta sells a 'Dine & Stay 1908' package of two nights plus a seven-course menu at the Parkhotel's Michelin restaurant, and its guests book massages, bikes and tennis at the Parkhotel. Commercially the stack is regional and agency-built. Both websites run on a custom PHP CMS from webwerkstatt (Armin Wieser) in Klobenstein on the Ritten, with brand design by go biq communication of Dornbirn for the Parkhotel and by Madame Mim (Maria Holzner) for Bella Posta. Both book through the HGV's Booking Südtirol widget, both take card payments through the HOGAST co-operative payment widget, and both run ADDITIVE for newsletter marketing — on two separate tenants. The Parkhotel additionally sells gift vouchers through ADDITIVE and pipes its booking conversions, including the guest email address, into ADDITIVE's tracking. Consent is handled by the open-source Klaro CMP on both sites. Memberships and listings: Schlosshotels & Herrenhäuser, Historic South Tyrol, Heritage Hotels of Europe, Falstaff Hotel Collection, Escapio, Good Travel, Urlaubsarchitektur, Little Travel Society and the HGV's Booking Südtirol portal. Sustainability credentials: GSTC certification since 2024, Sustainability Label South Tyrol Level 3, a Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence in 'Best for green practices', carbon accounting with turn to zero since 2021, and the Wanderlust Travel Green List 2026.

Its hotel-facing B2B products — Business Advantage, Sponsored Placements, TripConnect and the Review Express API — sell visibility and review volume back to the properties whose guests generate the content. Since 2011 it has traded on Nasdaq as TRIP; in April 2025 it absorbed its own parent, Liberty TripAdvisor, removing its controlling stockholder. After killing the paid Tripadvisor Plus subscription in 2024, the company relaunched consumer loyalty in August 2025 as Tripadvisor Rewards, a free app-only programme paying 5% back in "Trip Cash".
