Gargazon / Gargazzone, Italy

theiner's garten — das biorefugium

A 4-star-superior organic wellness hotel at 270 m in Gargazon / Gargazzone, the Etsch-valley village midway between Meran and Bozen. It trades as Theiner's Hotel G.m.b.H., an Italian limited company (S.r.l. / GmbH), VAT and tax code IT02513080214, REA BZ-183771, CIN IT021035A1V96QCAZX, with Ingo Theiner as legal representative. 57 rooms and suites — 2 singles, 47 doubles, 8 suites — across six published categories of 25–50 m², a stated maximum overnight capacity of 140 people, and entry rates of €142–172 per person per night including what the house calls 'more than three-quarter board': breakfast, a light lunch, an afternoon cake buffet and a five-course dinner. THE DISTINGUISHING ASSET IS AGRICULTURAL AND PREDATES THE HOTEL BY NEARLY THIRTY YEARS. Walter and Myriam Theiner took over the Bergerhof, then a pure apple orchard, in 1980, converted it to biodynamic cultivation in 1981 and obtained Demeter certification in 1984. Their son Ingo took the farm on in 2003 and works 11 hectares of apples, pears, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines, table grapes, persimmons, quinces and pawpaws, supplemented by a 300 m² herb terrace on the hotel's first floor. The hotel was built in 2008 on what had been the family's peach meadow and opened in 2009; Ingo Theiner has run it since 2020 alongside the farm. Produce goes straight into the kitchen, the room card doubles as the entry ticket to a learning trail through the fields, and more than 30 local organic growers plus two organic wholesalers supply the rest. Two further family ventures grew from the same root — a ProNatura organic shop opened by daughter Heike in 1990 and a ProNatura organic wholesale business founded with son Armin in 1991. The certification record is unusually dense for a house this size: BIO HOTELS member since January 2008, the first hotel awarded the South Tyrolean KlimaHotel seal, the first Demeter-recommended hotel in Italy, GSTC-certified, ClimaHost 2019 winner as the most climate-friendly hotel in the Alps, a jury special prize at the 2019 South Tyrolean Mobility Award, and a member of the Italian coeliac association. The house states 7.46 kg CO2e per overnight stay and 40% of its energy from its own photovoltaic and solar plant. Bedrooms are built deliberately without WLAN and with shielded cabling; a television arrives only on request. A LARGE SHARE OF WHAT IT SELLS IS PRICED OUTSIDE THE ROOM RATE AND OUTSIDE BOARD. The 1,000 m² spa — 12 m indoor and 17 m outdoor pool, three saunas, steam room, Kneipp facility — is open to day guests at €70, €95 or €110 per person; massages and treatments run from €84 for a partial-body massage to €118 for a full-body one; the restaurant takes external guests for breakfast or dinner on notice; there is a bar, a private spa room, a 60 m² meeting room for up to 60 people sold as a green-meeting product, multi-day retreats run with outside partners at roughly €500–1,300 per person, bike and e-car hire, twelve chargeable EV points, garage parking at €7 a day and late-checkout packages at €26 and €45. The season runs from late March to 6 January with a pre-Christmas break, and a new restaurant with a walk-in wine cabinet opened at the start of the 2026 season. COMMERCIALLY THE HOUSE IS MID-MIGRATION. Until at least April 2026 the entire front end was Brandnamic's: a TYPO3 site on Brandnamic's own package, its referrer-attribution script and its eHotelier platform. By August 2026 the site had been rebuilt by Zeppelin Hotel Tech of Meran, the booking widget had become Booking Südtirol (HGV, accommodation ID 10460) and Re:Guest had been added as a site-wide messenger that mints a per-visitor identifier on every page. The Brandnamic Voucher App stayed behind and still runs the gift-voucher shop. Reservation, on-site conversation, stored value and the newsletter signup therefore sit in four different systems, with no member area, no guest login and no published repeat-guest programme — although the house does run a 'Stammgästewochen' returning-guest week, a departure-day spa benefit reserved for direct bookers, and 10% / 5% early-booking rates that take full prepayment.

Re:Guest (ReGuest S.p.A.)

Re:Guest

Re:Guest is a South Tyrolean hotel CRM and guest-communication platform founded in 2014 in Merano by Michael Mitterhofer, Denis Pellegrini and Stefan Plattner, who had run a tourism marketing agency together since 1999. The product started as an "emotional", web-based alternative to static PDF offers and grew into a full sales-and-marketing suite: guest profiling and segmentation, an omnichannel inbox spanning email, WhatsApp, Instagram/Facebook and a website widget, automated offers and upsell campaigns, newsletter marketing, an AI agent layer branded CR:IS, a BI module, and a web-based guest app covering digital guest directory, F&B/spa/activity ordering and self-checkout. The operating entity ReGuest S.p.A. has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange's direct market plus since December 2024 and reported preliminary FY2025 revenue of EUR 6.66m. It is consolidating adjacent hospitality-tech vendors through majority and minority stakes (Zeppelin Hotel Tech, UP Hotel Agency, orderando, Indicate).
