Taisten / Tesido, Italy
Dolomites SPA Resort Alpen Tesitin
A five-star panorama spa and wellness resort at 1,320 m on the sunny terrace above Taisten/Tesido in the Gsieser Tal, looking across the Pustertal to the Pragser Dolomites, the Dürrenstein and the Kronplatz. It trades as Alpen Tesitin GmbH / Alpen Tesitin Srl (VAT and tax code IT01622840211, REA BZ-133888, CIN IT021052A1WUBJUO6S, share capital €10,000), with Johannes Feichter as legal representative. 78 rooms and suites across 16 published categories, from a 30 m² Einzelzimmer Alm to the 120 m² Suite Tesitin; several categories sleep between three and seven people, and the house markets itself simultaneously as a luxury spa resort and as a family hotel. Rates run €211–442 per person per night including ¾-Gourmetpension. The hotel operates roughly 307 nights a year across a summer season (May to mid-November) and a winter season (December to late March), with two closure windows in between. Around 106 people are employed. The property began in 1978 as the two-star Alpenhof guesthouse with 12 rooms, a Finnish sauna and a small outdoor pool. It was extended to 21 rooms in 1997 when the second generation took over, to 37 rooms and four stars in 2007 with the first panoramic pool and beauty farm, and to 62 rooms in 2014 when it was renamed Alpen Tesitin after the old Latin name for Taisten. A 2018 rebuild added ten penthouse suites, redesigned the entire exterior in glass, metal and wood and earned the fifth star. The most recent expansion, in 2021, took the house to 78 rooms and 55,000 m³ of built volume, adding a gym, an exercise room, two treatment rooms, three relaxation rooms, a rebuilt kitchen, laundry and wine cellar, and an extended underground garage. The spa is the centre of the offer: six pools including a 20 × 9 m outdoor sun infinity pool, an 8 × 5 m infinity whirlpool, an 8 × 5 m saltwater infinity relax pool and an 8 × 3 m mountain-spring plunge pool; eight saunas and steam rooms; panoramic relaxation rooms; a 140 m² gym and a 100 m² movement and yoga room. Twelve therapists deliver a treatment menu of about 100 priced items across ten categories, from a €14 nail decoration to a €210 lash treatment. Much of the spa area is restricted to guests aged 16 and over, while the rest of the house is family-oriented, with a children's and teenagers' room and children's menus at every service. The non-room offer is unusually broad for a single property. There is an in-house hair salon with its own published price list, open three afternoons a week. There is a car-hire fleet — a MINI Cooper S convertible, a fully electric BMW iX 60, a Mercedes-Benz G 500, a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, a Mercedes-AMG GTC and a Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder — hired only in combination with an overnight stay, from €95 a day to €8,200 for a ten-day Lamborghini package, with tree planting offered as carbon compensation. Vespas, gravel bikes and e-bikes are hired for a fee, mountain bikes are free, and personal training, à-la-carte lunch, a 24-hour menu and twice-weekly tastings from a 365-label wine cellar are all charged separately. Ten guided hikes a week in summer, six snowshoe hikes and three accompanied ski days a week in winter, and a free shuttle to Kronplatz are included. The house is a member of Belvita Leading Wellnesshotels Südtirol, holding that association's 'Premium Spa' and 'Active' seals, and is listed on Booking Südtirol, suedtirol.info, Selected Hotels, Falstaff, Gault&Millau and Relax Guide. Its website, voucher shop and marketing tooling are built and run by the Brixen agency Brandnamic on TYPO3; bookings go through the Booking Südtirol widget operated by the South Tyrolean hoteliers' association HGV, and the digital guest folder runs on Guestnet. Between April and August 2026 the property changed its public brand from 'Panorama Wellness Resort Alpen Tesitin' to 'Dolomites SPA Resort Alpen Tesitin'; several third-party portals still carry the earlier name.
