Geiselsberg / Sorafurcia, Italy

Alpin Panorama Hotel Hubertus

A five-star alpine wellness hotel at 1,280 m in Geiselsberg / Sorafurcia, a hamlet of Olang / Valdaora on the Kronplatz massif in the Pustertal. It trades as Gasser Touristik S.r.l. / GmbH — a limited company, VAT IT01311610214, REA BZ 113129, incorporated 19 February 1996, ATECO 55.1, registered at Via Furcia 5 — and employs around 95 people, which places it in the EU 'medium enterprise' band. The South Tyrol Open Data Hub carries it at five stars and the hotel's own English page title reads 'Our 5-star hotel in Italy'. Eight published room categories run from a 21 m2 single to 46 m2 sauna and jacuzzi suites, priced from EUR 232 to EUR 391 per person per night including three-quarter wellness board. The hotel publishes no room total; its own 2025 brochure site plan legends room numbers across five levels which sum to 86 keys, while a guest review on its Belvita profile puts the house at 70. The building is the product here, and it has been rebuilt in some form almost every year since 1985. Christian Gasser took the house over in 1984 at 21, when it was a two-star guesthouse; the published timeline records an indoor pool in 1994, a room wing and garages in 2002, panorama rooms in 2007, the Sky Pool completed in 2015-16, the Heaven & Hell sky spa in 2022, a 400 m2 spa renovation and a new panoramic dining area in 2024, and an indoor wellness expansion in 2025. The most recent works ran through a five-week closure from 7 April to 13 May 2026 and added a new entrance and lobby, a new panoramic bar, a new three-room sauna area, a meditation room, full air conditioning of the Corones category and a Premium Partnership with Golf Club Pustertal. Christian Gasser, who describes architecture as his second passion, conceived both the 25-metre cantilevered Sky Pool and the free-floating Heaven & Hell platform himself. Daniela and Markus Gasser took over the hotel in 2020. The wellness offer is unusually large for the house size — 9 heated indoor and outdoor pools, 9 saunas, three whirlpools on the Heaven & Hell platform, four relaxation rooms and a 7,000 m2 outdoor Alpenreych Park — and it is deliberately closed: the hotel states plainly that access is reserved to hotel guests and that no day spa is offered. Spa treatments and spa products are billed separately from board. There is a shop at reception, a wine cellar, a fireplace room, an H-Lounge, a terrace lounge and eight dining rooms. The family's roots are in vehicle trading rather than hotels: grandfather Franz Gasser (1932-2004) built the Gasser Iveco commercial-vehicle business in Bruneck and sat on the board of Kronplatz Seilbahn AG, the cable-car company, and Christian and Helga Gasser founded two coach-tourism travel agencies in 1992 — which is where the operating company's name comes from. Memberships are Belvita Leading Wellnesshotels Südtirol, Wanderhotels and Leading Spa Resorts, with GSTC certification and Level 3 of the South Tyrol sustainability label. The commercial side of the house runs on six separate vendors, and none of them shares a guest record with the others. The website is TYPO3 built by Brandnamic, whose eHotelier back office (hotel ID 001_ALPENHOTEL_HUBERTUS_5534) receives the enquiry, quick-request and newsletter forms. Bookings run through Iperbooking, an Italian all-in-one booking engine and channel manager. Gift vouchers are sold through ADDITIVE, which also supplies the site analytics. A separate branded online shop with its own customer accounts sits on the HuckePack platform. The chatbot is built by Limendo. Staff recruitment runs on onboard, behind a careers site built by a different agency again. There is no member area, no guest login, no repeat-guest scheme and no packages or offers published at all.

HolidayCheck is the largest hotel-review and package-travel booking portal in German-speaking Europe, founded in 1999 by students in Konstanz and now operated by HolidayCheck AG in Bottighofen, Switzerland under HolidayCheck Group AG in Munich. It combines a verified-review database with transactional booking, and through HC Touristik ("HolidayCheck Reisen") it also acts as a licensed tour operator selling package holidays as principal; sister brand MietwagenCheck/Driveboo covers rental cars. Hotels interact with it through the free HolidayCheck Business Center (review responses, profile and photo management, benchmarking) plus paid visibility, review widgets and the annual HolidayCheck Award badges. It is majority-owned by Hubert Burda Media, was delisted in 2021, and in July 2026 Burda engaged Raymond James to explore a sale.
