St. Magdalena & St. Martin, Italy
Hotel Quelle Nature Spa Resort (Steinmair family estate)
Hotel Quelle Nature Spa Resort is a five-star wellness hotel at 1,383 m in St. Magdalena in the Gsies Valley, in the Pustertal on the northern edge of the UNESCO Dolomites. It is the anchor of a three-property estate run by the Steinmair family across two villages of the same valley, and it celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2025. The three houses trade as three separate Italian companies. Hotel Quelle Srl (VAT IT00869550210, REA BZ 95538, constituted 1982) operates the hotel: 80 rooms and suites across 19 published categories from a 32 m2 double to a 120 m2 spa suite, sold on 3/4 'Verwoehnpension' board at EUR 214-379 per person per night, with roughly 100 staff. Chalet Salena Srl (VAT 02950660213, founded 2017) operates Chalet Salena, seven private mountain-spa chalets five minutes' walk away, each with its own pool or whirlpool and Swiss-pine sauna, opened in June 2018. Fontis di Julia Steinmair & C. Sas (VAT 02732950213) operates Fontis luxury spa lodge in St. Martin, eight suites opened in July 2021 on the family's working farm, heated entirely by a 200 m geothermal plant. Ninety-five keys in total. The house began in 1950 as a seven-room inn opened by Benedikt Steinmair and Elisabeth Felderer beside a water spring whose concession dates to 1947. Erich Steinmair took over in 1981; the hotel reached three stars in 1980, four in 1994, four-star-superior in 2006 and five stars in 2017, the year Manuel Steinmair took over its management. His sisters run the other two houses: Sarah Steinmair has hosted Chalet Salena since June 2018, Julia Steinmair is the legal representative of the Fontis company. The spa is the centre of the business: 4,500 m2 across five zones with eight indoor and outdoor pools, twelve themed saunas, seven relaxation areas, a 5,000 m2 wellness garden with a natural bathing pond and Kneipp trail, and a rooftop adults-only 'Timeless Sky SPA' added in 2023 with an infinity pool and the Cloud 7 bar. A 300 m2 Technogym fitness centre, a guided outdoor programme six days a week, a Beauty and Vital Lounge with medical spa and physiotherapy, and a wine cellar of some 400 labels sit alongside it. The spa is also sold to non-residents as a Day Spa at EUR 119 or EUR 153 per person. Guests of Chalet Salena and Fontis are entitled to use the Quelle spa and activity programme, and the Fontis farm — vegetables, herbs, hens, quail, bees, trout and char from 18 km of private water, sold through the on-site Bio-Shop Fontis — supplies all three kitchens. The estate is a member of Belvita Leading Wellnesshotels Suedtirol and is listed in the MICHELIN Guide. Recent recognition includes the HolidayCheck Gold Award in 2025 and 2026, third place in the Connoisseur Circle 'best wellness hotels' rating in 2025 and 2026, and a top-ten South Tyrol placing in the Wellness Hotel Award. Its technology is unusually consolidated for an independent of this size: one property-management system across the estate, one web and marketing platform behind all three brands, and shared guest-messaging and newsletter tenancies — with distribution running through the regional hotelier association's booking platform rather than a global engine.

Re:Guest is a South Tyrolean hotel CRM and guest-communication platform founded in 2014 in Merano by Michael Mitterhofer, Denis Pellegrini and Stefan Plattner, who had run a tourism marketing agency together since 1999. The product started as an "emotional", web-based alternative to static PDF offers and grew into a full sales-and-marketing suite: guest profiling and segmentation, an omnichannel inbox spanning email, WhatsApp, Instagram/Facebook and a website widget, automated offers and upsell campaigns, newsletter marketing, an AI agent layer branded CR:IS, a BI module, and a web-based guest app covering digital guest directory, F&B/spa/activity ordering and self-checkout. The operating entity ReGuest S.p.A. has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange's direct market plus since December 2024 and reported preliminary FY2025 revenue of EUR 6.66m.
